I’ve been dying to tell you guys that I got accepted into Rebecca Page ambassador starting this August. Ever since then I’ve been itching to show you guys my makes, but I’ve had to wait till the patterns are released. Well, now’s the time. I don’t know about you guys, but whenever I cut fabric, I don’t feel like using pins, but the pattern doesn’t stay in place otherwise, either. So far I’ve used scissors, vases, jars, all sorts of knickknacks and even my phone as pattern weighs, so I was very happy when I got to try the baby elephant crochet pattern. A touch of Provence in the middle of Finland

 My favorite street artist Banksy had an exhibition in Mänttä, so we just had to go see it. While driving there, we noticed a sign advertising a French village store , right here in Finland, so naturally we had to give it a go on our way back. --< --< Maailman kuuluisimmalla katutaiteilijalla, Banksyllä, oli näyttely Mäntässä, ja sitä varten oli varattu liput yli kuukausi ennakkoon. Ajomatkan varrella huomasimme kyltit ranskalaiseen kyläkauppaan , joten pitihän siihen käydä tutustumassa kotimatkalla. --< --< The French village store is situated in an idyllic turn-of-the century building in Vääksy old town. When you step in, it's like stepping 100 years back in time with its wooden floorboards and rustic shelves brimming with goods. The shop hosts dozens of small chambers in three floors, offering its visitors anything from dried lavender to Marseille soap, from home decor to French clothing. There's also a café. There's something about Marimekko

 Making clothes is one of my passions. Oftentimes handmade clothes are more expensive than throwaway fashion, especially if you use high quality materials, but sometimes you can save a big penny making your own fashion. This is the case with Marimekko fabrics. My daughter and I have been Marimekko fans for years. Whereas paying 150 or even 300 euros for a frock isn't an option for us, at least not very often, paying 30 - 60 euros for fabric and making my own seems like an affordable indulgence. This summer I've been inspired by the iconic Unikko (Poppy) design by Maija Isola. -<- -<- Vaatteiden ompelu on minulle mieluinen harrastus.
